101 Empowering Affirmations for Women Who Hate Affirmations

TL;DR: Your thoughts shape your reality so why not make them work for you? Affirmations aren’t just fluffy feel-good phrases; they’re powerful tools for rewiring your mindset, building confidence, and attracting opportunities. Pick 2-3 that resonate, repeat them daily, and watch how they shift your energy (and your life).

Let me be honest with you.

For years, I thought affirmations were the cringiest thing in the world.

The idea of standing in front of a mirror telling myself I was “a magnet for abundance” made me want to crawl out of my own skin. The aesthetic ones on Pinterest weren’t much better either. They all sounded way too woo-woo for me.

But then I actually tried them. (Like, what did I have to lose?) And slowly, they started to shift something.

So if you’ve been avoiding affirmations for years because they’re a little too OTT, this list is different.

Here are 101 positive affirmations handpicked by someone who used to think they were cringe AF. Pick a few that resonate, repeat them daily, and watch what shifts.

P.S. If you’re new here, hey! I’m Thalia. I help burnt-out girlies in their 30s unf*ck their life. Every week(ish), I share content on burnout recovery, self-development, finding joy, and career growth. Subscribe here so you never miss a debrief.

The lowdown on affirmations

At the beginning of this month, I made the biggest investment in myself and my business to date.

I’ve joined a group coaching course, and one of its underlying aspects is wealth consciousness.

This is the concept of cultivating a mindset that attracts financial success and abundance by aligning your thoughts and actions with wealth-building principles.

Along with listening to a money mindset book for 20 minutes in the morning, I am also actively building self-belief and confidence through the practice of affirmations.

As part of my morning routine, I repeat the same affirmation (one I wrote for my own personal needs and goals) 10 times out loud. This daily practice sets me up for a more positive day and boosts motivation so I can navigate any challenges with a stronger and more resilient mindset.

This one simple affirmation has already started to have a significant impact on my overall success.

I’ve never been one for “woo-woo” practices, preferring the practical over the spiritual, but I’m finally realising the importance of high vibration. Okay, I still feel super cringe writing that word down, but I don’t know how else to word it.

What I’m trying to say is: you attract the energy you put out.

If you start to cultivate more self-belief and an abundant mindset, chances are you’ll start to receive opportunities that support this positive state of consciousness.

The perks of affirmations

Imagine waking up every morning feeling ready to conquer the day.

You have the energy and motivation to go after your deepest desires and dreams.

That’s the power of positive affirmations. They serve as valuable mini-tools that allow you to recognise your own ability and potential and inspire you to keep going.

Regularly repeating positive affirmations helps you to:

  • Improve your mindset
  • Cultivate an optimistic attitude
  • Build healthier thinking habits
  • Boost self-confidence, resilience and self-belief
  • Reduce stress and negative thoughts
  • Increase daily performance and productivity
  • Support overall health and well-being
  • Reach your goals and vision

101 positive and empowering affirmations

Start your day off right by incorporating the power of affirmations into your morning routine.

Choose 2-3 of the below affirmations that resonate with you the most and write them down somewhere visible — either in your journal or on Notion.

Take 20 minutes out of your day to read each affirmation aloud to yourself or silently. Repeat them regularly to reinforce each positive statement in your mind. Change them up every 60 days as this is how long it can take to reframe your original thoughts and beliefs.

Remember, this is a long-term process, not a quick-fix solution.

It’s also important to note that these affirmations aren’t to be used to “manifest” your dream life.

They are to be repeated daily so you can start to reframe the self-sabotaging thoughts inside your head into empowering beliefs and ultimately gain the motivation and confidence you need to take action and achieve what you want.

P.S. I encourage you to save this post (like now!!) so you can come back to it whenever you need to.

How to create your own affirmations

Don’t worry if the above affirmations don’t resonate with you.

This is totally normal. We’re all different and on our own unique journey, so I encourage you to find your own words that do land for you.

If you’re struggling to believe one of the above affirmations, instead of throwing it out and neglecting affirmations altogether, reframe it using your own words.

Creating your own affirmations is a simple but powerful way to customise positive statements to fit your own specific needs and goals.

Here’s your step-by-step guide on how to create your own affirmations:

  • Step 1 | Define your goals: Identify areas for improvement or change
  • Step 2 | Write positive statements that support these goals
  • Step 3 | Use the present tense: Write your affirmations with ‘I’ or ‘my’ as if they’re already true
  • Step 4 | Incorporate words that resonate with you: Adding your own words to affirmations helps to generate a stronger impact and make them more effective. Use words that evoke feelings of gratitude, resilience, confidence, motivation, etc.
  • Step 5 | Repeat and believe: Read out your mantras regularly and believe in their truth
  • Step 6 | Review them quarterly: Update your affirmations often to match your current goals

The most effective affirmations are the ones that resonate deeply with you and inspire positive change in your mindset and actions.

So experiment with different affirmations and find what works best for you.

Final thoughts

Remember, the real power of affirmations lies in consistency and belief.

Choose the affirmations that resonate with you the most and repeat them daily (and for at least 60 days). This is a long-term commitment, not a one-and-done thing.

Let the words of your affirmations become your mantra.

Match your thoughts and actions to your affirmations and allow them to guide you towards a life filled with self-love, unshakable confidence and abundance.

The comments section

  • I love your affirmations but they do lack the belief that the Lord our God gives us strength. I have experienced many things that the only way it was possible to happen was with God’s help. I’m using some of your affirmations but have put my gratitude toward my beliefs in Jesus Christ. For example: I trust in my Lord who has given me my abilities and success follows me in every endeavor I undertake as long as it’s in God’s will. Another example: gratitude is my attitude… Thank you Lord for everything you have provided for me that shapes my world. Thank you again for your wonderful affirmations they are very helpful.

    • Thank for adding to the conversation!! I love that you’ve added to these affirmations and made them work for you xx
